    SLP(A)’s in schools have integral roles in education and are essential members of school faculties. They help students meet the performance standards of a particular school district and state by assuming a range of responsibilities: a) working in partnership with others to meet students' needs, b) providing direction in defining students' roles and responsibilities, and c) ensuring appropriate services to students.

    General Description of the Role:  

    • Provides group or individual services to students identified with a communication disability on their IEP.  

    • Provides thorough assessment and diagnosis of articulation, voice, fluency, and language disabilities.

    • Provides Response to Intervention (RtI)/MTSS, screenings as appropriate and observations to identify students with communication needs.

     

    Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

    1. Planning:

    Designing the exceptional student education program so that it is consistent

    with the total educational philosophy of the district. Continuing professional growth through educational meetings, reading professional  literature, and exchanging ideas among the district staff. Working in coordination with other special education staff in planning and developing the program. Coordination with 0-3 services/providing Child-find evaluations and coordination with MVDS in this area.  Providing assessment of students in private schools.


    2. Programming:

     Preparing educational plans annually for each student, serving a range of          disorders, based on individually assessed needs, serving a range of disorders in            accordance with district procedures.    Preparing therapy plans for each student across all grade levels.  Providing appropriate schedules for exceptional students involving school personnel as required. Participating in the in-school staffing and screening processes as appropriate.  Participating on evaluation teams for speech, language, and hearing impaired students as appropriate. Providing diagnostic/evaluation testing for students.  Providing culturally competent services. Cooperating with school personnel in coordinating services within that school. Conferring with classroom teachers as requested concerning any educational needs of the student. Making available to teachers’ instructional ideas that are appropriate for exceptional    students within the classroom situation. Collaboration, SLP works in partnership with others to meet students' needs Working with the MTSS/RtI teams to help implement interventions for students with Speech and Language concerns.

               

    3. Reporting:

     Ensuring that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records in his/her      IEP.   When requested, furnishing the principal(s) and Special Education Director with current exceptional student schedules.  Completing progress reports on each student in the special education as required. Supplying progress reports to school personnel and to parents of exceptional   students as required.  Responsible for meeting federal and state mandates as well as local policies in performance of their duties. Activities may include Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, Medicaid billing, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development. Referring those students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the    appropriate school personnel or community agencies.  Data collection and analysis to guide practice and services to students, data-based decision making, including gathering and interpreting data with individual students.

     

    4. Other:

     Other duties as assigned.  SLPs help students meet the performance standards of a particular school district and state.  Supervising Speech Language Assistant in accordance with the legal.   Manage oneself (is organized, prepared, and punctual; manages resources; meets deadlines; follows through on commitments; demonstrates appropriate physical   appearance relative to job and environmental expectations).  Consistently acts in ways that directly support various missions (Colorado River BOCES, CDE, schools, districts).  Effectively maintains relationships at multiple levels (individual, team, Colorado River BOCES, schools, districts).  Maintains ethics, legal responsibility, and confidentiality.   Follows organizational and district policies

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Master's degree.

    2. Valid Colorado CDE license in field and hold ASHA certification.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA).

    Job Duties

    The Colorado River BOCES is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated WBL Job Coach to support the development, implementation, and coordination of the CRBOCES’ Career Technical Education (CTE) “EPIC” Work Based Learning (WBL) programs.

    The WBL Job Coach will work directly with EPIC WBL TEAM- supporting strong CTE student and staff culture, providing administrative support for all WBL programmatic and curricular decisions regarding CTE programs, and serving as a resource/support for students, staff and community.  

    Preference is given to candidates who have CTE Work Based Learning (WBL) experiences in program development, implementation, student, staff, and community advocacy focused on local WBL opportunities grades 7-12.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provides job coaching support within the EPIC Team addressing WBL development, implementation, coordination and resources for students, staff and community.

    • Develops and maintains WBL forms, databases, and protocol for the EPIC Team WBL pathways.

    • Maintains student, staff and industry partners EPIC WBL documentation and other needed documents as required.

    • Assisting EPIC coaches with scheduling of events, online seminars and classroom presentations addressing Pre-EPIC WBL placement.

    • Assisting with development and integration of concurrent enrollment options into CTE pathways.

    • Recruits and maintains WBL 360 for all invested participants.

    • Supports the EPIC Team in projects and special events.

    • Supports activities of School Advisory Partners.

    • Supports the creation and coordination of school-based Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).

    • Accountability for WBL expenditures, supplies, and equipment.

    • Assists with development and integration of concurrent enrollment options into CTE pathways.

    The WBL Job Coach will have experience in CTE programming and administrative support in public education.     The school-based Occupational Therapist (OT)/ or Physical Therapist (PT) provides occupational/ physical therapy services to students ages birth – 21 within the Colorado River BOCES service area to help students benefit from special education. The Pathways Paraprofessional will work closely with our CTE Program Instructor to help aid in the construction and development of our Tiny Homes Project.   • Time expectations:

    This role is a full-time (est. 40 hours/week) school-based construction instructor role. Time will be spent mostly on school campuses working with students, teachers, industry partners, CRBOCES staff, and school staff. Some time might be used to manage logistics of this work, getting supplies, materials, and curriculum development.

    Description:

    The EPIC Construction Instructor-Coach will be responsible for providing safe instructional learning environments for students mostly outside of the classroom and on the school grounds. This position will support current construction instructors, students and their projects while simultaneously preparing to lead additional EPIC Construction Pathways featuring tiny homes this fall.

    Collaboration between the school's staff, EPIC staff, and Industry Partners is required to provide consistent and clear communication of expectations for student outcomes. Students will learn construction skills while engaging in building projects (Examples: tiny homes and sheds). Industry partners will participate in some of the instructional opportunities to provide students with current practices in the sub contractor fields. Some of these partnerships will lead to work based learning opportunities for students.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Provides leadership and instruction in the development, implementation and coordination of the EPIC Construction Pathways Programs.

    Supports construction instructors and students with tiny home building projects.

    Works within the budget to provide construction pathways.

    Communicates with the CRBOCES CTE Director and Pathways Coordinator on a regular basis.

    Maintains a valid Colorado driver's license and ability to drive work trucks with trailers.

    Can lift up to 50lbs.

    Can safely operate power tools such as chop saws, table saws, drills, etc…

    Studies, evaluates, and, as appropriate, recommends to the EPIC staff and schools the adoption of new instructional materials, methods, and programs within related industry fields.

    Provides assistance as requested in district and grant reporting on CTE student outcomes.

    Supports industry relationships to facilitate placement of students into internships, job shadows and mentorships.

    Accountability for program expenditures, supplies, and equipment.

    Student and staff safety in program.

    Performs other related duties, including special projects, as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Holds, or works towards a Career technical Education (CTE) license

    Knowledge of CTE and Common Core standards

    Effective oral and written communication skills

    Ability to work in a self-directed manner and support a school-based and EPIC teams

    Must be able to problem solve with a creative, entrepreneurial approach

    Must possess strong program leadership capabilities, and excellent personnel, and budget management skills

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Degree(s) and/or experience combined with certifications related to the construction industry field

    Experience (5 years, or more) in the field of construction

    Familiarity with public education funding streams, including the federal Carl D. Perkins

    Familiarity with analysis of student success metrics and development of improvement strategies (using data to drive instruction)

    Background in project management and supervision of construction crews
